What is the Charlotte Festival?
The Charlotte Festival or ‘Festival’, is an organization that supports musical performances and theory tests for young artists in the Charlotte area. These performances and tests are given in an academic and collegiate setting. Opportunities for young artists to perform on a platform like this are few and far between. The legacy, organization, and platform this program provides is what makes Charlotte Festival unique in the field of junior music instruction.
Why do Festival?
-This event is an amazing opportunity to get feedback from someone other than friends or family. All parties involved, from administrative staff to judges, are lifelong professional musicians and educators.
-The higher levels of the program are great on college applications as it is a recognized national event.
-The opportunity to perform in front of professionally trained and working musicians is found few and far between (if at all) before the college level pursuit of music. Charlotte Festival provides this opportunity in your backyard.
What age is Festival for?
-This event is designed for all ages, elementary to adult students of any musical ability.
-Allowing students to cultivate performance experience and etiquette is misunderstood as a later stage skill. Exposing them early in age and/or development is key to the well rounded success of a student of music.
Where is Festival?
-Festival performances are done at concert halls and churches around the Charlotte area. With the relationships and networking built by our administrative staff and teachers you should not have to travel far to attend your or your child’s Festival performance.
-Parents, guests, and teachers are not allowed in the room while the student is playing. This is a judged event. Maintaining this age old practice is the finale of all the student’s hard work.
What is the fee and how do I sign up?
-The annual fee is handled through the ‘studio’ or teacher that has enrolled you or your child into Festival. Please contact them for annual dues.
-To sign up please see the ‘Our Team’ page for email contact info. The registration process will go through a teacher or their ‘studio.’ If your teacher is not currently enrolled in Charlotte Festival please have them reach out to us. We can and will assist them in their registration process so you or your child can participate in Festival!
